About Kayak Dog
Hey Paddlers
Welcome to Kayak Dog, where we are dedicated to getting you the latest in river conditions and paddling information. We are running live feeds from the USGS and updating our site frequently.
We have a growing image gallery and many plans for new features ...
Be sure to check out our image slideshow
Right now Kayak Dog automatically searches the USGS every 15 minutes or so for the latest river levels across the country. Then we colorcode the river levels for quick visual reference of what is running and what is too low to paddle.
We are also calculating trends using previous readings to display if the river is rising, falling, or holding.
We are in the process of adding river information to the individual river pages, with beta on the put in, take out, the rapids, etc...
