Siloam Springs Whitewater Park

The Siloam Springs Whitewater Recreation Park is a nearly $2 million investment from the Walton Family Foundation. It offers 600 feet of engineered river, which expanded and created two distinct rapids. There are also fully accessible paved trails along the Illinois River, picnic tables, a climbing boulder for kids, changing rooms and a family swim area with riverside seating. The city of Siloam Springs was able to procure the needed land, so now there is public access on and off the river.

According to locals, the rapids and play holes/waves were designed to be optimal at the lower summer flows, and levels around 2.7 to 2.8 feet seem to be best. At this level the first feature offers excellent front surfs. Within the first rapid right below the wave a narrow hole forms that is loop-able.

The second feature is surf-able at this level but difficult and challenging.

Very good time and I recommend making the drive at this level.
